Zhan Surang Hui was born in the village of Chang An, his family lived in the mountains and preyed on human flesh until the law changed. His father was killed in the ancient war thousands years ago between tribal vampire villages, his mother is still alive, she lives in Beijing.

Zhan Surang Hui rose to Elder vampire status in Chang An first after fighting in many wars, he developed his powers to call blood from others wounds which made him feared. As his tales in China spread across the country, he was brought to Beijing by Elder Fu Quong Liang, the elder of China to train with others chosen to take his place when he died.

Zhan Surang Hui outbalanced all his classmates and became Elder of the China at the age of 425 years and while working he ran into a Elder Demon named Krayon at the G8 Underworld Meeting in Russia. At first Krayon annoyed him, following him around and even staging little fiascoes before he started to get use to Krayon around even coming to him for advice. Krayon also comforted him when Kira died and lived with him for awhile while he was exiled to Tokyo while his kingdom was taken over. The most strangest of his family, is the Daylighter. Hui can withstand sunlight without fear and it is the most reason, he is hated by his fellow night children.

Presently, Zhan Surang Hui is ruling China with a iron fist, though he is trying to show his son how to, grooming him to be his successor, he changed the rules to keep his family always in power. This is called the Zhan Surang Dynasty.
